Interim Pastoral Team
Mark Hanson-Kahn seeks to follow Christ day-to-day. He is deeply committed to disciple-making and is a lifelong learner. Mark believes that following Christ is the most challenging call of any Christian, disciple-making is the most enduring form of ministry and that in our postmodern, hi-tech society, there is no end to learning.
From his experience, Mark has observed that to love those who are closest to us is usually more difficult than caring for strangers, consistent witness depends upon walking alongside Jesus, and deep community arises from unreserved investment in the people around us.
Mark enjoys serving the spiritual needs of others and in seeing them grow in the Gospel. He has an MDiv and PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in Illinois. Mark’s previous ministry experience includes: Cardiff and London, UK; Singapore; Chicago and Atlanta; and Toronto, Canada.
Mark and his wife Andrea, a genetic counselor, live in West San Jose.
Tina Teng-Henson considers it an honor to serve the Orchard Valley community as one of its interim pastors. Every day, she sees the opportunities that present themselves to be God's people here in the Bay Area. Every day, she sees the need to depend on God to be who He says He is: the one who loves us, the one who wants to rescue humanity from itself, the one who did and does and will.
Tina served in campus ministry with InterVarsity at Harvard and has since served in local church ministry, in a variety of contexts and denominations. She has a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Tina and her husband John, an electrical engineer, have been given the charge to care for three incredible little human beings. Beatrice loves school, drawing, reading and writing. Peter enjoys playing with superheroes, stuffed animals, his two sisters and cars. Teresa delights the family with her ready smile and easy going personality.
