Message from Pastor Curt
Can you feel it? The mornings are getting warmer. Our students are getting antsier. The movie releases are becoming block-bustier. :) Yup, SUMMER is nearly here!! Summer means different things for everyone. Summer is a time for celebrating graduations, taking a needed vacation, visiting family, and/or enjoying a retreat. For students, it's a time of rest after a long academic year and a time to prepare for the Fall. Summer greatly contributes to the rhythms we need in life, doesn't it?
At OVCC, we enjoy summer! Our summer begins with the JEMS Mount Hermon conference for all ages. Then, in July, our students engage in a time of training and preparing for Vacation Bible Camp 2016, where this year's theme is Mega Sports Camp EPIC MOMENTS! At this camp, our students, young and old, will be invited to discover what it means to be part of the greatest team of all time -- Jesus' team! Our Vacation Bible Camp falls on the week of July 18-22 from 9am to noon.
Towards the end of summer, we will be sending another Baja Build team to the Baja colony of Vicente Guerrero to build a house for a family and also build relationships with the neighborhood children by sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday mornings, we will be concluding our year-long study of Romans, which we've dubbed, "Romans: Truth Alive For Me And You." This study has proven to be an insightful time of learning how God's truth has the power to transform and heal our lives in ways we desire for ourselves and our loved ones.
"Oh, I don't know why, but I've always loved the idea of summer!" -- Olaf
