Our History

Orchard Valley Christian Church is a multiethnic, independent, intergenerational church in Sunnyvale. We began in 1978 as Agape Bible Church, under the leadership of Jerry Chung. We were a group of Chinese-American families that had moved from San Francisco to Silicon Valley. In 1993, we became Orchard Valley Christian Church.

In January 2005, Curt Ogawa became our lead pastor and we have steadily grown, adding new leadership, a home group ministry, a refocused youth and children’s ministry, a revitalized missions ministry, a new compassion ministry and a new discipleship ministry.

Since May 2019, we have been led by the ministry team of Mark Hanson-Kahn and Tina Teng-Henson. Our vision is to be fruitful in the world, through Christ-centered worship, community with camaraderie in our home gatherings, and expressing God’s heart of compassion through caring for and serving others, especially among the Asian American population of the South Bay.

Most of Silicon Valley is represented at Orchard Valley: Sunnyvale, San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Los Gatos and Fremont.

Come and be a part of our history!
